Testimonial from a Mauritian Student
Ali Subratty, Year 1 Optometry Honours Degree (BOptom).
"With lecturers available whenever there is a part of the course which is not clear - from early mornings in their office to even late nights on Facebook - coupled with the rich resources in terms of textbooks and study spaces offered by ARU’s library, I am delighted to say that studying at ARU is a pleasurable experience and above my expectations."
Ali says that the scholarship offered, plus cheaper tuition fees compared to other universities was of particular value. But it's not all work and Ali finds time to enjoy life in Cambridge which he says is "A nice and peaceful city - it is always a pleasure to go for a walk by the river to enjoy fresh air, punting or even contemplate the beauty of the old city centre and its history."
For Ali, his experience so far is "Full of surprises. Studying at ARU is really inspiring for me. So far, it has helped me to develop interpersonal skills and a higher sense of responsibility required later on in my career."
