Did you know that Blackberry was invented by 2 Canadian students?
Who are now Billionaires...
In 1984, two engineering students - Mike Lazaridis (University of Waterloo) and Douglas Fregin (University of Windsor) - co-founded Research in Motion (RIM)
Mike and Doug Fregin turned seriously to wireless technology. Mike, 18, enrolled in the University of Waterloo's electrical engineering program.
General Motors paid him to try out one of his early inventions -- a wireless message screen -- on its auto assembly line. The lure of his burgeoning business was too much. He dropped university and, joined by Doug, who left the University of Windsor, they started RIM.
In 1998 RIM introduces its first BlackBerry, a wireless handheld computer. The company signs agreements with several companies including BellSouth Wireless, IBM and Rogers Cantel, to provide wireless service.
RIM is ranked as one of Canada's fastest-growing technology companies. The concentration of those companies in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont., region leads some to refer to the area as Silicon Valley North.
Impressive what 2 brilliant Canadian engineering students achieved!

Testimonial from a Mauritian Student
Kharuna Ramrukheea - Bachelor of Engineering
I am currently enrolled in my second year at the University of Windsor.
Before reaching where I am today, PTC helped me in my application process for this university. The counsellor was of great help with her advice regarding the different decisions I had to make about my accomodation, my departure and my landing over here.
I am having the best experience ever at this University, with new friends, qualified professors and excellent counsellors whenever needed. The campus comprises a very diverse community where you can meet people from many countries around the world. Anytime I had any problem within the University, I had no problems finding somebody to help.
All in all, I would highly recommend the University of Windsor for students looking for a comprehensive university. PTC will definitely be of great help when it comes to the application process.
