Testimonial from a Mauritian Student
Javeshni Marimootoo - LLB (Hons) English and French Law
Hello!!.. I'm Javeshni Marimootoo, a first year student currently studying English and French Law LLB at the UKC..Four months have elapsed and i'm already loving Kent!
When I first started my applications at the PTC, I knew that Kent would match exactly what I was expecting from an enriching and exciting Uni-Life. I was very much impressed by the warmth of the staff, both teaching and non-teaching and how they really care for the students here. I also find that the quality of tertiary education which is offered here is really very high. For my course for example, specialised enthusiastic lecturers are chosen to give lectures on specific modules,we are among the best Universities in the UK,there are skill hubs and workshops that are organised to help students and much more to make our studies more interesting and enjoyable. Everything is so well-organised.
Furthermore, the University's campus is set on a hill which overlooks the city,it has plenty of greenspaces, tranquil spots and its all very pretty but when it comes to entertainment, students are very much spoilt with different Cafes, bars, superb restaurants,a cinema and even a proper nightclub!.. Fancy some sports?,There's also a gym and a very good sport's centre on campus. Infact, there is always something interesting to do here!
Moreover, at Kent, the social scene is very much varied and international; I've got wonderful friends from France,India,Ghana,Thailand as well as the UK. Its so nice to meet different people from different countries and cultures, its all about sharing and learning new things. I would also like to add that the accommodations on campus are very nice and cozy especially when you turn it into your own little home.
The University of Kent and its Uni-life has really brought good changes to me since I am becoming more independent, responsible and mature to take my own decisions and I'm sure that it will happen to you also. For the moment I am just enjoying the most what the University has to offer me at all levels and I'm very happy!
