UCAS APPLICATIONS TO UK UNIVERSITIES

WHAT IS UCAS

UCAS stands for Universities and Colleges Application Service and acts as the "middleman" between you and the UK Based Institutions you are applying to.

You can apply to upto 5 Universities and UCAS will then send your application to your 5 choices and inform you of whether you have an offer via UCAS Track and by sending you updates through the post.

You will need to apply via UCAS to most UK Universities, although a few may accept direct applications. Please contact PTC for a list of Universities which also accept direct applications.

HOW PTC CAN MAKE UCAS APPLICATIONS EASY!

We are aware that you will now be busy with your HSC Final Exams so we are providing a free service where we can register you on UCAS and help you start the application without having to take the time to travel and come to our office.

STEP 1: REGISTRATION

All we need is the following information and we can register you on UCAS and email you your username and password:

STEP 2: COMPLETE APPLICATION

You can then either complete the application at home or we can complete it for you if you provide us with the following:

• Your choices for Universities (you can choose up to 5 universities)
• Your Personal Statement (we can proof read before you submit the final version)
• Scanned copies of your SC Certificate and your forecasted grades
• Scanned copy of an original signed reference from your headmaster or school teacher

STEP 3: PAY UCAS

UCAS charges £9 if you are applying to one university and £19 if you are applying to more than one university.

You can either pay yourself by credit card or if you do not have access to credit card, you can provide the equivalent in cash in Mauritius Rs to PTC and we will make the online payment on your behalf using our credit card.

STEP 4: WAIT FOR OFFERS

You can then relax and concentrate on your exam. You just need to keep checking "UCAS Track" to see if you have any offers from universities. PTC will also keep track for you and inform you by email or phone

STEP 5: CONFIRM YOUR OFFER IN FEB 2010

Once you have your results in Feb 2010, you can give PTC a copy of your HSC results and we shall send it to the University to confirm your place

STEP 6: ACCOMMODATION AND VISA APPLICATION

PTC will then assist you with your accommodation and visa application
