Buckinghamshire New University
Buckinghamshire New University, styled bucks new university, is a public university with campuses in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and Uxbridge, Middlesex. The Vice-Chancellor of the University is Rebecca Bunting.
The institution dates from 1891 when it was founded as the School of Science and Art, and has since that date been re-invented variously as the Wycombe Technical Institute, the High Wycombe College of Technology and Art, and the Buckinghamshire College of Higher Education. It was a university college from 1999 until 2007 when it announced that its application for university status had been accepted.
From offering evening classes to the local community, to teaching soldiers skills to help them find employment after the First World War, Bucks has been many things to many people. They recently celebrated our 125th anniversary and looked back on some remarkable achievements from over the years.
They’re working towards a vision to create an environment where innovation, creativity and enterprise flourish. They’ve already developed a partnership to inspire students in emerging technology, and have plans in place to carry on making a real difference to people’s lives.
